As part of the legendary poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz's centenary celebrations in 2011, being held around the globe, Aman ki Asha and NuktaArt magazine are pleased to announce the Faiz Art Prize, 2011, in collaboration with the Progressive Writers' Association.

The Faiz Art Prize entries will be available for public viewing, as well as for a Silent Auction, which will enable the organisers to reconstruct Yarak, a traditional potters' village near Dera Ismail Khan, Punjab, which was devastated during the 2010 floods.

All proceeds from the auction will go towards making their homes and workshops functional to ensure rehabilitation and the continuity of their craft.

We invite friends, art lovers and well-wishers to visit the exhibition and avail the opportunity of acquiring the unique artworks Postcards to Faiz, for your collection. The bidding will take place from October 4 to 9 at:

Gallerie Sadequain, Frere Hall, (Opposite Marriott Hotel), Karachi. Daily 11 am to 5 pm (closed on Sat Oct 8).

The exhibition space has been designed by eminent architect Habib Fida Ali, and the Faiz Art Prize Award has been created by Pakistan's prominent sculptor Shahid Sajjad.
